Here at Octane Recruitment we deal with 1,000’s of jobs every day and lots of different clients who all have different requirements.
We deal with three types of contract options:
This is the most common option for employment we offer on behalf of our clients. They usually want to either replace someone withing the business or a new role has been created as their business has grown and the opportunity has been made.
In this situation the employer is looking for someone to come into their business that wants to be there for all the right reasons, and can excel in their career. All employers want to get good people for the role they offer and a normal recruitment process will be expected usually consisting of a first and second interview followed by a conditional offer. We pride ourselves with helping both clients and candidates meet each other who we believe will compliment each other and be the best fit.
This option is usually used when the client maybe isn’t sure if a role is going to be permanent or if they are looking to test the water with a role. Candidates who apply for a temporary role must do so with the knowledge that the position will end on the advised date unless advised differently.
A temporary role can usually end without notice and the employee needs to understand this. A candidate should also see a temporary contract as an opportunity to impress the client so much that they decide to make the role a permanent one. Getting a foot in the door with a client is sometimes the hardest thing to do, so if you get the opportunity make the most of it so that the employer wants you to stay.
A contract is used mostly when an employer knows they are going to be without a staff member for a period of time or if there is a project to deliver and that there is no full time role after that has been completed.
A contractor will normally be someone who is experienced in the particular skillset the contract requires as the employer will need the contractor to hit the ground running in most circumstances.
A lot of the time a contract covers maternity and will be for a more senior or crucial role within the clients business, so the candidate must be ready to roll!!
Octane Recruitment has a brilliant team of specialists who know what candidates will fit certain opportunities and we are confident we can help both parties match up quickly and efficiently with the right result for everyone.
